We got involved because we were angry that someone would take down a flagpole at VFW Post 6699 in Paramus. We felt strongly that something needed to be done, and we wanted to show these Veterans that their service and sacrifice mattered.
What we didn’t expect was how much this experience would mean to us.
At the recent ceremony and meeting, we realized that while we came there hoping to do something good for these amazing Veterans, they were the ones who truly gave back to us. Their gratitude, their stories, and the emotions shared that day touched us in a way we will never forget.
We were honored to stand beside them and be part of something so meaningful. We left that day with full hearts, grateful for the opportunity to give back to those who have given so much for all of us.
